BITWARDEN VS LASTPASS PASSWORD
We can mandate a password manager all day long, but if people don't want to use it, they won't. For most of our users, security is less important than convenience, so if we can provide/recommend a simple solution that looks the same in the office and at home, then we're more likely to succeed. For example, if we purchase Dashlane Business to use in the office, then I'd like to be able to recommend Dashlane Premium for at-home use. I'm looking for a solution that offers both corporate and personal plans. I can see how one might want to have a sense of familiarity, but that would imply all users use the same thing at home if at all. If it's their home personal passwords, honestly I wouldn't base my corporate password vault decisions on this.

When you say the same solution for people at home or at work, are you talking about for managing their personal passwords or having access to the corporate password manager? If you use Thycotic, it's web based so they could access this over a VPN. You can find the complete difference between password management tools and Privileged Access management solutions here. I look forward to hearing from you!

I'm curious, are you looking for just a password manager? How are you currently managing the rotation of your privileged account passwords and service accounts? If you are looking for a vault, the password management tools like the ones you have listed will be great, but have you explored Privileged Access Management? PAM offers much great visibility and control - you have the ability to automate password rotation (even service accounts and SSH keys) and reporting for compliance and internal security policies, plus a lot more. As you've mentioned, we would not advise you have your team store their personal credentials in our vault.

While we do have a Basic Dashboard that's great for end-users and their corporate passwords, we don't have a personal password manager for their personal credentials, unfortunately. Thycotic has a fantastic option as well with Secret Server. If you have a lot of mac's/iOS devices 1password might be better, they have really great mac/iOS integrations. That said 1password is close on their heels and with some really minor feature implementations around 2fa I could see 1password jumping past them. The ability to set configurations and policy's for users and groups is what wins it for me. LastPass is the only choice I recommend for enterprise/business. Responsible disclosure is important and with all the options above the use of zero-knowledge/pre-internet encryption should mean none of your passwords are leaked ever. I feel like in order to trust a password manager I need to see how they handle a security event.

I like bitwarden but I'm not sure I would trust it for business use quite yet, the fact that its made by a very small team (I think a 1 man team unless that's changed) Is something that makes me nervous. Since LastPass acquisition, their technology seems to have become rather stagnant. I trust the people at 1password the most, it seems like 1password as a company has their heads and hearts in the right spot just like LastPass use to before they were acquired by LogMeIn and hiked their prices.

Have used LastPass, 1password, and Bitwarden.
